Problems in the download page

Dear Visitors

I am getting innumerable mails stating that downloads are blocked. Just now received a mail from dropbox account that the account is suspended owing to heavy traffic.

So I have decided to host all my downloads in a paid server from Jan 2013 saying GOODBYE TO MEDIAFIRE AND DROPBOX. Special thanks to both these servers as they have supported me till very recently.

Planning to segregate the downloads so far uploaded in the blog artist-wise.

As you all are aware this is a one woman show and I have to do it personally in my own way. I REQUEST ALL VISITORS TO GIVE ME SOME MORE TIME AS I WILL BE STARTING TO UPLOAD FILES IN THE NEW SERVER BY JAN FIRST WEEK.  I HAVE SPENT INNUMERABLE  HOURS OF HARDWORK IN THIS BLOG JUST WITH THE SOLE INTENTION OF SHARING KNOWLEDGE AND MUSIC . AND ALL THIS WAS POSSIBLE ONLY WITH THE ENCOURAGEMENT ,  BESTWISHES AND PRAYERS OF MY DEAR DEAR FRIENDS OVER THE WORLD ACROSS.

EXPECTING YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT..

BEST REGARDS

#19-Arabhi – The Raga with a Pleasing and Haunting Melody

Raga Arabhi dates back to the 7th century. Among the panns or ragas of ancient Tamil music, it corresponds to the pann, Pazhanthakka. Arabhi is an audava-sampoorna janya of Dheera Shankarabharanam,(the 29th Melakartha Ragam – the fifth Chakra in Music) and the third among the Ghana Pancharatna Ragas. A very auspicious raga, Arabhi predominantly conveys Veera rasa (valour) and at times, Roudra rasa (fury). When you listen to Arabhi, the atmosphere is charged with religious fervour – “Mangalakaramaana Isai” or “Auspicious Music”. Hence Arabhi also conveys the emotion of Devotion or Bhakthi. It is an energetic all-time raga just like its parent Raga  Sankarabharanam. Tanam on Veena is particularly enjoyable in this raga.

#111 – M.S.Amma – Ramasevamandali Concert

M.S. Amma – the immortal legend’s music is pure and divine. Born to a brilliant Veena artist -Shanmugavadivu amma in a tiny home close to the Meenakshi Sundareswarar temple, Madurai Shanmugavadivu Subbulakshmi (a.k.a Kunjamma) grew up literally surrounded by music. Her grandmother Akkammal had been a violinist. Young Kunjamma, started growing up listening and  humming along with her mom when she played the Veena. M.S.Amma’s music is known for her mellifluous voice, immaculate shruthi sudham and her clear diction in the rendition of the  song.

M.S.Amma’s first musical mentor is Shanmukhavadivu Amma. Her mother began early to prepare her for a career in music. She took her along to her own concerts, to sit and listen, and later on to sit beside her and play the veena along or to sing along. Yes, her mother had taught her to play the veena as well as to sing.”

#110- Dr. M.Chandrasekhar & G.Bharathi- Violin Duet – Live Concert at Changampuzha Park – Edappally-Kochi on  Dec.4th 2012

This is the recording of the  live violin duet concert by the great maestro Sri.  M.Chandrasekhar and his daughter Smt. G.Bharathi. It was a brilliant performance by the duo. Sri.M.Chandrasekhar was initiated into Carnatic music by his mother late Srimathi Charubala Mohan, a talented Carnatic musician. Smt.Charubala Mohan was perhaps the only guru for Sri M.Chandrasekar on violin. Violin Maestro M. Chandrasekaran has been a violinist for the past 63 years. He is known for his nadaswaram touches on the violin. He is also an accomplished vocalist and composer.  Dr. M. Chandrasekaran, celebrated his 75th birthday on November 22 this year at Mylapore-Chennai.

Smt.G.Bharathi is also a well known Vocalist and Bharathanatyam artist. She follows her father’s footsteps in spreading the tradition of Indian Carnatic Music with her amazing expertise and style of performance. This concert brings out the excellent vocalist in Dr. M.Chandrasekhar..A brilliant performance by the duo..DO NOT MISS !!!
