Radha and Jayalakshmi (cousins) were another singing duo most popular during 60s and 70s . They were the were disciples of Sri Balu, who was a favourite disciple of G.N.Balasubrahmanyam. So one can easily spot the GNB bani – the briga oriented music, inimitable, precise, clear rendition of krithis, comprehensive portrayal of raga, exquiste pattern of manodharma swaras and devotional devarnams of great appeal. Their clarity in singing was so crisp, that the listener would able to notate the entire kriti.
This is a 1962 concert performed by Radha and Jayalakshmi in K. Srikantiah’s house in Parvathi, Mysore
