It was really a fulfilling experience and a fun filled workshop at Kendriya Vidyalaya..
Topic was Activity Based Teaching Methodology of Carnatic Music in Schools.. It was a very good start for me with Kendriya Vidyalaya.
Several fun filled activities were roped in to teach the kids Talam, Sruthi, Swaram, Songs etc..without informing them that they are learning Talas or Swaras..At the end of the day the kids will be singing the saptaswaras and the songs taught with the proper rhythm. BTW, the students who attended the workshop were teachers of Kendriya Vidyalaya..They will start doing it during the Music Hour in their respective schools.

Feeling happy that I could convince one of the Major Schools in India about the advantages of teaching Carnatic Music in Schools..
Also happy to share that the school management appreciated the teaching methodology and has offered more opportunities to spread the idea to their other schools.
