An Online workshop on Chitta Tanam for students of Carnatic Music is announced on the Onset of Vipanchika Mahotsavam-Celebrating Veena 2024. Tanam is basically the highest form of Manodharma that belongs to the league of Ragam Tanam Pallavi. Tanam is bound by the rules of laya. Even when there is no tala, there is a pronounced rhythm. It is the madhyamakala that gives optimum result while singing the tanam.
Tanam can be applied to Vocal Music or any instrumental form, though it sounds the best in Veena. Students belonging to Vocal or Instruments (Intermediary Level with Varnams and Kritis ) who are interested can join to learn Manodharma aspects and how to play or sing Tanam.
